conditions. Wood pests can certainly tolerate higher temperatures; they
simply retreat to the deeper, cooler heartwood. It is therefore very
important to warm the heartwood. This deprives the pest of the
opportunity to retreat. Only by adhering to the treatment times can it
be ensured that the pests have died.
